Mercato: PSG is still negotiating for Milan Skriniar

In January 2023, in less than five months therefore, Milan Skriniar will be able to commit where he wishes if he has not left Inter Milan by then. The 27-year-old defender will then be free, six months from the end of his contract. This means that the Lombard club seems to have its back against the wall, forced to sell it this summer. Especially since the rough axial has already agreed with PSG, which he intends to join to enter the three-way defense competition established by Christophe Galtier.

Thus, PSG and Inter Milan are still negotiating the arrival of the Slovak but the gap between supply and demand still seems considerable to this day. Inter are asking for 80 million euros, including bonuses, to sell Skriniar, an improbable sum on the transfer market for a player at the end of his contract in six months. This summer, although the ages and careers differ, Jules Koundé, 23, (from Sevilla to Barcelona) and Kalidou Koulibaly, 31, (from Napoli to Chelsea), were sold for 50 million euros and less than 40 million euros.

Paris is fighting for a transfer below the 60 million euro mark

At 80 million euros, the Parisian leaders were adamant with their Italian counterparts: Skriniar will not come. More than 20 million euros separate the two camps today while the Parisian staff is fighting for a transfer below the bar of 60 million euros, an already very high price.

The failure of the talks is therefore no longer to be excluded in this case. This same logic of one-upmanship had led the Gianluca Scamacca file to a dead end, the Sassuolo striker finally committing to West Ham for 36 million euros (and 6 in bonuses). Paris considered the demands of the Italians exorbitant.

This summer, the roadmap given to Antero Henrique is compliance with the rules of financial fair play as European football, competitors to Javier Tebas, the boisterous president of the Spanish Football League, continue to watch carefully the facts and gestures of Paris. In the meantime, while continuing to hope for Skriniar, Paris is studying other avenues in central defense and the arrival of a player in this sector is acquired internally.
