The Brooklyn Nets will finally have the opportunity to try again around the duo Kevin Durant-Kyrie Irving. Nobody wants to waste this opportunity and Sean Marks, the General Manager, is looking to strengthen the roster even more. After validating the arrivals of TJ Warren et Royce O’Neale in particular, the Nets want people inside, if possible with experience and a taste for combat. This is where the track Markieff Morris begins to make its way.
According to Marc Stein, discussions between Morris, free agent, and Brooklyn are well advanced and the former Miami Heat player, NBA champion with the Lakers in 2020, could quickly join the group coached by Steve Nash.
Morris, who will turn 33 in a few days, has only played 17 regular season games in 2021-2022, due to an injury which occurred after a gesture from Nikola Jokic. He had played in only one playoff game, but seems to be back in good enough shape for a new challenge.
Inside, the Nets count for the moment in their workforce LaMarcus Aldridge, Nic Claxton et Day’Ron Sharpewhich seems a bit light to battle with the other title contenders in the East.
Update: The Nets have moved into advanced discussions with free agent forward Markieff Morris as Brooklyn seeks to bolster its frontcourt, league sources say.
