Marianne Vos wins the 1st stage of the women’s Tour of Scandinavia

Dutchwoman Marianne Vos won the first stage of the women’s Tour of Scandinavia in Denmark on Tuesday and took the lead in the ranking of this competition, which is the first edition. The 35-year-old triple world champion won this 145.6 km stage between Copenhagen and Helsingør in the sprint, ahead of American Megan Jastrab and Belgian Shari Bossuyt.

The Dutchwoman is one of the favorites in the race. Very prominent during the recent women’s Tour de France where she won the points classification, she was disqualified during a race in Sweden on Sunday. Wednesday for the second stage of this Tour of Scandinavia, the riders will have to cover 154 km between Orust and Strömstad, on the west coast of Sweden, before four stages in Norway.
