Manchester United is officially made manyun, Benjamin Sesko chooses RB Leipzig

Manchester United hoped to bring sharpness up front with Sesko, but fate said otherwise.

Once again Manchester United were made to scowl by their failure to bring in the players they needed. After failing to bring Frenkie de Jong, Man United again failed to sign RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko’s name continues to be associated with Man United as Erik ten Hag wants to add quality up front for the Red Devils. But in fact, Sesko has been officially announced as a new player for German Bundesliga club, RB Leipzig.

It can be said that it is not surprising that Sesko moved from RB Salzburg to Leipzig, because the two clubs are under the same umbrella. It’s just surprising that Leipzig is considered sexier than Man United.

Sesko’s move was announced by Leipzig on Tuesday (9/8) evening WIB. This move did not take place immediately, because Sesko will only join Leipzig on July 1, 2023, with a five-year contract given by Leipzig for the 19-year-old bomber.

“Benjamin Sesko is one of the top international talents and has great potential to also become a top player,” said Leipzig technical director Christopher Vivell.

“He carries everything, is very fast, has incredible jumping ability and is very good in the air. Benjamin is a true goalscorer who is agile and technically strong despite his height of 1.95 meters. His skills make him a special player with a special profile,” continued Vivell.

Sesko himself is very excited about his move to Leipzig. He looks forward to next year to be able to taste the Bundesliga and defend Leipzig – which he considers to have become one of Europe’s elite teams.

“I am very happy that I can step up to RB Leipzig in 2023, and this transfer has been confirmed. RB Leipzig is one of the top clubs in Germany and is gradually establishing itself among the best teams in Europe,” said the Slovenian. .

Who is Manchester United’s current striker?

With the declining performance of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial who is still in doubt, and Cristiano Ronaldo who is said to want to leave, Man United must look for a new striker.

Reportedly, the name that is being pursued by Old Trafford is Marko Arnautovic. The Austrian striker belongs to Bologna, and the club are reportedly reluctant to let Arnautovic off for this season.

After the defeat in the 2022/23 Premier League opener against Brighton & Hove Albion, Erik ten Hag did not want to talk about the potential to bring in Arnautovic, and seemed very sure of the current stock of forwards.

“I’m not naming names because I think, in this pre-season, 250 players were involved or linked with Man United,” Ten Hag replied. “So that’s it.”

“We have two strikers, maybe a third with Rashford too, you can see him as a striker.”

“He had a very good pre-season on the left and also today had two very good chances, coming from the left, so I think it was the right decision to do it like this. But we don’t have a number nine. He’s not available today.”
