Maja Stark triumphs in Northern Ireland and gets her LPGA card

ANTRIM, Ireland — Sweden’s Maja Stark scored 63 (under 10) on Sunday to win the ISPS Handa Invitational.

This is Stark’s third victory this season on the European Women’s Tour. But since this tournament is also sanctioned by the LPGA, she also obtained her LPGA card thanks to this result.

Stark started the final round two strokes behind American Amanda Doherty. She quickly took control as she completed the front nine of the Galgorm Castle course in 31 strokes. She had nine birdies in the space of 14 holes and quickly broke away from the rest of the participants.

The 22-year-old Swede finished the tournament at 20 under, five strokes ahead of American Allisen Corpuz, who scored 68 in the final round.

Doherty shot a round of 74 and settled for a tie for eighth at 11 under.
