Russell was a Celtics legend
The world of basketball and the NBA is still shaken after the news of the death of Bill Russell, legend of the Boston Celtics.
Another great basketball champion, Magic Johnson, made a particular proposal to the NBA with a tweet to commissioner Adam Silver. The Los Angeles Lakers legend has in fact asked to collect the number 6 jersey from all the teams in the league.
A singular proposition given that it would be the first time in the NBA that a number will be withdrawn for all franchises. The only precedent in American sport concerns MLB baseball, where Jackie Robinson’s number 42 was withdrawn for all teams.
