Luneville. Selim Chebchoub, “a judo full of explosiveness with a smile”

How long does judo take you per week?

“I consider myself rather lucky since between my job at 53e transmission regiment of Lunéville and my personal practice at the club, the cursor should not be too far from 8 p.m. But it’s not prison, it’s only happiness! »

What motivates you in practice?

“My style is 100% offensive, my goal is to make the coaches vibrate and to offer a judo full of explosiveness. Of course, all this with a smile, respect for others and pedagogy for others. »

Why this sport and not another?

“(Laughs) No choice at all! All the planets were aligned, family of judokas, practicing big sister and beginning at 4 years old near Loon-Plage, in the north of France. But I quickly liked this spirit of camaraderie and especially finding a release. »

What predispositions do you need to have?

“All this work over time, we learn to work on fluid gestures, and we progress on flexibility. To refine this panel, it is quite obvious that having a warrior spirit and physical appearance helps a lot. »

How do you feel when you see your achievements?

“Modesty and pride at the same time. I managed to be 3e of the Grand Est region and above all vice-champion of France military. But who knows, other titles will come over time, I don’t set myself any limits. »

Are the club doors open?

” Sure. Like many disciplines, judo also strives to be accessible to people with disabilities or on adapted sports. Do not hesitate, come. »

Where to practice?

“Our dojo is located on the floors of the Charles-Berté gymnasium. We find kimonos in the 50 euros to start and it can go up to 200 euros for the competition. »
