It was in tune with the times, it is now official. Lucas Torreira (26) is no longer an Arsenal player. The pocket midfielder is committed to Galatasaray, as announced by the Gunners on Monday through a press release. “Everyone at Arsenal thanks Lucas for his contribution during his time with us. We wish Lucas and his family the best of health and happiness in their new chapter with Galatasaray”indicates in particular the London club.
The Uruguayan international (39 caps) has signed a four-season lease with his new team. Arsenal will recover approximately €6 million in this operation, when the player had only one year left on his contract, loaned to Atlético de Madrid and then to Fiorentina for the past two years. Lucas Torreira will have worn the Gunners shirt a total of 89 times (4 goals, 6 assists), winning an FA Cup in 2020 and having quickly won the hearts of supporters, in particular by his energy on the pitch.
