Bob Marlin and the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns men’s basketball team will travel to Puerto Rico this week for a summer tour. This is the third time the program has gone on a summer tour, with trips to Spain (2013) and Cuba (2017). This is also the second time the program has visited Puerto Rico, having participated in the San Juan Shootout in 1999.

The Cajuns will play their games at the historic Mario Morales Coliseum, facing three different all-star teams in Guaynabo PR In addition to basketball, these trips are used as a bonding opportunity for players and coaches as well as a chance to discover the culture and the tradition .

“Our upcoming trip to Puerto Rico will be a great experience for our student-athletes,” said head coach Bob Marlin. “This opportunity will allow our young men to grow and come together as a cohesive unit, both sportingly and socially with the time shared together. According to NCAA rules, we are allowed 10 days of practice, which is also an advantage to be ahead of the upcoming season.

Louisiana will be an experienced group in 2022, returning eight letter winners from last year’s team that played in the Sun Belt Championship Game.

Greg Williams Jr, Jalen Dalcourt, Joe Charles, Michael Thomas, Kentrell Garnett, Isaiah Richards, plus All-SBC members Kobe Julien and Jordan Brown return to the Cajuns in 2022.

The program will also have four newcomers on the trip, as Themus Fulks, Chancellor White, Vinny Sigona and Kyran Ratliff will also make the trip to Puerto Rico for the first time in a Cajun uniform.
