Legends of Puerto Rican basketball will meet at Arena Medalla to participate in a discussion of El Nuevo Día

With the purpose of paying tribute to some of the best basketball players that Puerto Rico has produced, The new day will present tomorrow, Wednesday, the Puerto Rican Legends of Basketball discussion, which will be held at Arena Medalla del Distrito T-Mobile in Miramar, San Juan.

The activity will be the climax of the series Puerto Rican Basketball Legends that this newspaper presented between May 16 and August 1, in which the 12 best basketball players in the history of Puerto Rico were revealed -weekly-.

In Arena Medalla, some of the 12 basketball players who were chosen to participate in a conversation will meet in which anecdotes will be remembered and questions asked by subscribers of The new day.

The discussion will be moderated by the editor of Deportes El Nuevo Día, Esteban Pagán Rivera.

The activity is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m., with the discussion taking place from 4:30 p.m. The discussion is expected to last one hour and will be broadcast live on endi.com.

In Arena Medalla, a group of subscribers from The new day who were selected by lottery. Likewise, the vast majority of the 13 experts who voted to select the final list of 12 basketball players, who were published in order, will say present.

On August 1, the series culminated with the basketball player who was chosen as the best of all time in Puerto Rico, Jose “Piculin” Ortiz.

The list of 12 was formed, in order, by Ortiz, Raymond Dalmau, Carlos Arroyo, José Juan Barea, Teo Cruz, Juan “Pachín” Vicens, Georgie Torres, Mario “Quijote” Morales, Rubén Rodríguez, Johnny Báez, Jerome Mincy and Alfred “Butch Lee.

“The Boricua Legends of Basketball series culminates with this conversation, which we have planned with great care and passion. For us, it is of the utmost importance to highlight the legacy of these legends and that they continue to share with the fans who accompanied them in all their conquests.”, expressed Pagan Rivera.

As part of the activity, tribute will also be paid to those basketball players on the list who have already died and whose relatives were invited.
