Latvian beach volleyball players start the CEV Nations Cup with a loss to the Netherlands – Volleyball

In the first match, the Latvian duo Anete Namiķe/Varvara Brailko lost 0-2 (11:21, 13:21) to the Dutch pair Emija van Drīla/Pleuna Ipma, but in the second match of the teams, the leading Latvian couple Tīna Graudiņa/Anastasija Kravčenok won 1-2 (19 :21, 21:17, 15:17) recognized the superiority of Maxima van Driel/Emma Piersma.

In group A of the women’s competition, the Latvian national team will also compete against Swiss and Spanish teams, while in group B, Germany, Austria, Italy and the Czech Republic will play.

The tournament for the fourth places in the groups will be over, the first places will immediately enter the semi-finals, while the winners of the second and third places will play an additional battle for the semi-finals.

At 17.45, the Latvian national team will start the match against the Spanish team, which lost to the Swiss 1-2 in the first match. After two games, the result in this duel was tied 1-1, but in the additional “golden” set, the Swiss beach volleyball players proved to be superior with 15:7.

The winners of the group will earn two days off, but the second and third place winners will have an additional battle for the semi-finals on August 4 at 15.30 or 17.45. The semi-finals are scheduled for the next date at 2:00 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., while the medal matches of the CEV Nations Cup will take place on August 6 at 2:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

The Latvian men’s national team did not enter the top eight according to the ranking and did not start in the tournament.
