Kostic to Juventus? Frankfurt Coach Crying

Helsinki

Filip Kostic is widely reported to have been very close to Juventus. Eintracht Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner mourned the player’s departure.

Kostic did not take Frankfurt to Helsinki to appear in the European Super Cup against Real Madrid. The club said the Serbian player was in the process of making a move.

Kostic is reportedly set to sign a three-year contract at Juventus. He earns a salary of 3.5 million euros and will soon be inaugurated by the Bianconeri.

“I have tears in my eyes. Kostic is a very important player for us, so of course it’s a painful departure,” Glasner told a news conference ahead of Real Madrid.

“He was instrumental in 22 goals for us last season. But there is a little smile when I think back to the start of last season, when he almost left. We had a good conversation and he put himself 100% at the service of the team after that,” Glasner explained.

“I told him that if he was going to leave Frankfurt, he had to go as a hero. I think he did that last season because he was one of the players in the Europa League.”

Kostic has played for Frankfurt since 2018. The winger has made 172 games in total, scoring 33 goals and providing 64 assists.
