His personal coach, Andrew Morant, explained to the New York Post that it was a line of work.
“We focused on his passes, we worked a lot on his passes out of pick-and-roll. Fast passes “in the pocket” (towards the screener when his defender comes to stop the dribble), later passes “in the pocket” or finding the shooters in the corners on the pick-and-roll”.
Nevertheless, with the signing of Jalen Brunson and the hoped-for return to form of Derrick Rose, Immanuel Quickley should play much less at the lead, and rather shift to the back. In any case, he should find a role of pure scorer off the bench, as during his first NBA campaign.

“We weren’t really interested in what other people were doing. We wanted to focus on his progress as a player and how he can impact future Knicks wins. I think he’s an asset to the Knicks if they want to win games, but he could be an asset to a lot of teams. I don’t know what the Knicks are thinking, what they want to do with him or what the situation is. What he and I try to do is be ready for any situation and any opportunity that arises. »
