“I will never forget this club”: loaned to Bilbao, Ander Herrera thanks PSG and its supporters

No hard feelings for Ander Herrera. Failing to terminate his contract with PSG, the 33-year-old midfielder was loaned to Athletic Bilbao for a year, which has an option to buy. Although he was placed on the list of transferable players after the arrival of the Galtier-Campos duo in the capital, the Spanish player does not leave Paris on bad terms. He thus published a video on his social networks in which he thanked both the club, its supporters and the welcome of the city in general with a sober caption: “Thank you Paris”.

“We were close to bringing back the famous Champions League”

In the message that accompanies the highlights of the three seasons he played at PSG, the Spaniard highlights in particular the trophies he has won (two French championships and two French cups) and the players he rubbed shoulders with: “The time has come for me to say goodbye. Goodbye after three wonderful years filled with good times. I will be eternally happy and grateful to have been able to represent the greatest club in France, to have played three seasons with many titles at stake, to have played with some of the best players in the world and for all the affection that I have received since my first day in Paris. I will never forget this club, the people who work there and above all how wonderful it is to play at the Parc des Princes.

Ander Herrera had a word for the Champions League final lost to Bayern Munich two years ago, the culmination of his 95 games in Paris colors: “I always tried to put the interests of the club before mine. I leave happy to have given everything during these three years of success and titles and to have worn this jersey for almost 100 games. We came close to bringing the famous Champions League back into the club’s showcase. I have no doubt you will have it soon. »

The player concluded his video with a few sentences for the city of Paris: “I can’t say goodbye without talking about Paris. I leave totally in love with this city, with each of its corners with its elegance and of course its people. Thank you all for making every moment unforgettable. Thanks Paris. »
