Heerenveen and Sparta without goals at the opening of the Eredivisie, Ajax and PSV in action on Saturday | Football

On Saturday, national champions Ajax and PSV come into action. The Amsterdammers open with a visit to Fortuna Sittard, while the Eindhoven residents receive FC Emmen in the Philips Stadium. Feyenoord will start on Sunday with an away match at Vitesse.

Fortuna Sittard – Ajax

Fortuna Sittard caused the big surprise in the transfer period by binding Burak Yilmaz. The attacker may be 37 years old, but he comes to the Limburg club full of ambition. Fortuna captured another important player with Iñigo Cordoba. The Spaniard was one of the trendsetters at Go Ahead last season.

Fortuna stirred the transfer market and also paid 1 million euros for Rodrigo Guth, a German-Brazilian defender who was loaned to NEC by Atalanta Bergamo last season. It is up to trainer Sjors Ultee to quickly make a well-rounded whole of all newcomers.

With the arrival of Steven Bergwijn, Brian Brobbey and Owen Wijndal, Alfred Schreuder has been served at his beck and call. The trio was at the top of the wish list of the new Ajax coach.

With the left-footed defender Calvin Bassey from Rangers, the transfer of Martinez was anticipated and Francisco Conceiçao (FC Porto) was a godsend for 5 million euros. Mexican right-back Jorge Sanchez will strengthen the defence. Also crowbar Lorenzo Lucca (21) from Pisa has been attracted.
