Independent it was measured against Lanús in the framework of date number 13 of the Argentine Professional Soccer League.
The first half of the King of Cups was not good at all. We almost didn’t kick the goal and to top it off they managed to convert us almost without reaching us.
Our goalkeeper had little work, he contained a good shot from Troyansky, but at 21 minutes Sand’s goal came against a defense that was very poorly placed.
It cost us too much to generate danger and even only one clear play can be highlighted in the first instance. Batallini was face to face with the goalkeeper, but he defined very badly and we couldn’t take advantage of it.
The second half was no different. We had the ball, but we had no precision or ideas to worry them.
Luckily, and totally unexpectedly, our goal came at the end of the match. Insaurralde lowered it to Leandro Benegas who crossed her head.
It is worth remembering that the team formed with: Alvarez; Vigo, Barreto, Insaurralde, Rodríguez; Romero, Sonora, Batallini, Pozzo; Fernández y Benegas.
Alan Soñora was one of the Independiente soccer players who tried the most.
What’s next in the Independent fixture
We have another game in the near future. Next Tuesday the Emperor’s team will return to the field to face Hurricane. That will be from 9:30 p.m. at the Libertadores de América Stadium – Ricardo Bochini with the arbitration of Yael Falcón Pérez.
On Sunday the 21st of this month we are going to play against Godoy Cruz as a visitor starting at 3:30 p.m.
Then we are going to face Vélez for the Argentine Cup (on 8/25) and we will meet again precisely with Fortín the following weekend for the local tournament.
