Grīnbergs wins the title of Latvian champion in BMX freestyle in Liepāja – Sports

Tomas Grīnbergs from Ventspils celebrated the victory in the men’s competition in the Latvian BMX freestyle championship held as part of the “Mad Liepāja” non-traditional sports competition festival. Due to an injury, the main favorite Ernests Seebold could not start in the competition.

The event was held in the newly built skate park of Liepāja Seaside Park. Ten athletes participated in the fight for the title of Latvian champion in BMX freestyle. Our leading BMX freestyler, winner of the fifth place of the European Championship, Ernests Seebold, was missing.

His favorite status was confirmed by another Ventspil player Tomas Grīnbergs. This year, the 18th best BMX freestyler scored 87.66 points. Second place goes to Kalvi Lazdiņš, whose performance was evaluated with 80.66 points. Meanwhile, Ralf Rosenblum (77.66 points) completed the top three. Lauris Atmats (77.00 points), Kristians Špons (63.33 points) and Guntis Atmats (56.66 points) also entered the top six.

The Latvian championship was organized by “Rave team” with the support of the Latvian Cycling Federation.
