Anouar Ait El Hadj seems to have gotten the message. The young midfielder has been caught in the eye of the storm in the past week after refusing to play with the U23 team. After a week in the B-team and apologies on social media, the midfielder was allowed to start today in the Challenger Pro League against SK Beveren. El Hadj was immediately noticed with the opening goal.

El Hadj was allowed to make a lot of minutes in the first team in recent seasons. This season it was a lot less. That is why the club had the idea to let him play with the U23 team. The young midfielder of Anderlecht refused last week that proposal to play in the Challenger Pro League. He received a lot of criticism for that. El Hadj was also punished within the club. For example, the 20-year-old midfielder had to train with the B-team.

Now it seems he got the message. After previous apologies on social media, the midfielder was allowed to start today with the promise team against SK Beveren. El Hadj took care of the worries and scored the opening goal after about fifteen minutes. Anderlecht’s promises eventually drew 2-2 against Beveren. With that, they jump to second place in the Challenger Pro League for the time being. The move to RWDM is scheduled for next week. It remains to be seen whether that is again with El Hadj or whether he will soon get another chance in the first team.
