Football: Arnautovic targets champions Milan

Soccer

Marco Arnautovic and Bologna FC take aim at reigning Italian champions AC Milan in the third round of Serie A on Saturday (8.45 p.m.). The ÖFB star goes into the duel with the “Rossoneri” in the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium with a lot of self-confidence, because Arnautovic was successful as a goalscorer in both previous games of the season. The Viennese could also show Red Bull Salzburg how to score goals against Milan.

The Milanese were drawn to the Austrian series champions in the group stage of the Champions League on Thursday. After the first two games, Milan hold on to a win and a draw. Bologna, on the other hand, has so far remained without a win in the young season. The opening defeat at Lazio Roma was followed by a draw against Hellas Verona last week.

Both times, however, Arnautovic scored the only goal for the red-blue team. In the upcoming duel with defending champion AC Milan, the grapes should probably hang a little higher. Bologna have won just one of their last 25 meetings with Stefano Pioli’s team. The Rossoneri are also unbeaten in 18 league games.

Draw in the top game

In the top game, Juventus Turin and AS Roma shared the points 1-1 (1-0) on Saturday. For the former series champions Juve, Dusan Vlahovic scored the lead in the second minute, Tammy Abraham equalized for the Romans coached by Jose Mourinho. For the Conference League winner it was the first loss of points in the third round, for the “Old Lady” the second draw in a row.

In the clash between newly promoted US Cremonese and Torino (1:2), there was no Austrian duel. Ex-Rapidler Emanuel Aiwu was substituted at Cremonese in the 85th minute, while Inter loan player Valentino Lazaro was only on the bench for Turin. Leaders Napoli travel to AC Fiorentina on Sunday, where they have won their last three league games.

Storm opponents Lazio dismantled Inter

Already on Friday it was the first defeat of the season for runners-up Inter Milan. The “Nerazzurri”, who won the Scudetto a year before their city rivals Milan, were beaten 1:3 (0:1) in Rome’s Olympic Stadium by Lazio. Felipe Anderson (40′), Luis Alberto (75′) and Pedro (86′) shot the Romans, who are opponents of Sturm Graz in the group stage of the Europa League, to victory. Lautaro Martinez had scored the equalizer for the “Nerazzurri” (51′).
