different sport

Flag football is a sport derived from American football that has gained increasing popularity in the country and in the world. The basic rules are similar, but instead of knocking the player down with the ball on the ground, the defender must remove a tape (flag) for the play to end. Athletes wear a belt, where the two flags are attached by Velcro.

The flag was developed to minimize injuries that traditional American football could bring and to make it cheaper to play the sport, whose equipment is expensive. The sport is considered democratic, because people of different physical sizes are able to practice. In 2028, the flag will become an Olympic sport in the games that will be played in Los Angeles.
