Figueroa Vázquez is the referee to direct Girona’s return to Primera at the Valencia field

The Andalusian Jorge Figueroa Vazquez has been the referee designated by the Royal Spanish Football Federation to whistle the match that Girona will play against Valencia this Sunday at the Mestalla stadium and that will mean the return of the Catalan team to the First Division. The person in charge of VAR will be José Luis González González.

Figueroa Vázquez and Girona have crossed paths in thirteen occasions, all of them in the Second Division and with a fairly favorable balance for the white-and-reds, who have only had to regret two defeats with this player: 2-1 in Alcorcón in 2016 and 1-0 in Tenerife in 2020. Instead, he has managed four draws and up to seven wins. The last one, a 3-1 at the Montilivi stadium against Deportivo de la Coruña when Juan Carlos Unzué was still their coach. Instead, the Andalusian has managed five matches at Valencia, who have only lost once (3-0 at Getafe in 2021) with this member.
