FC Twente will play the home match against Fortuna Sittard on Sunday afternoon. Temperatures above thirty degrees are expected during the meeting in De Grolsch Veste, which is why FC Twente has taken measures.

“It is very hot in the stadium on Sunday, the mercury rises above thirty degrees,” says general director Paul van der Kraan on the official website. “We advise all supporters to take this into account.”

“Every supporter is allowed to bring in an empty bottle without a cap,” continues Van der Kraan. “This can be filled in the toilets. You can pick up cups at the kiosks that can also be filled. There are also many useful tips on the ‘National Heat Plan’ website of the RIVM. Of course the first aid services are extra alert.” The KNVB has also removed the heat protocol. For example, two drinking breaks have been inserted, in the 23rd and 66th minutes.

Van der Kraan is looking forward to the first home game in the competition. “That will be an interesting match, because Fortuna Sittard has considerably strengthened itself, with the most striking acquisition being the Turkish top striker Burak Yilmaz. After the fortunate win in Nijmegen against NEC, we would like to keep the points in Enschede on Sunday. We will do very well for that. the day must come. You don’t have the fortune against NEC every week,” said the driver.
