FC Barcelona: Who is selling, who could still come – FOOTBALL

The transfer carousel keeps turning at FC Barcelona …

Accordingly, two new transfers are imminent in the coming days. First, the Catalan club wants to sell off a reserve player, only to then make €15m available for a defender.

As “ESPN” reports, Barça has agreed with the US club Los Angeles Galaxy on a transfer of midfielder Riqui Puig (22).

In May, the Spaniard was made clear by coach Xavi that he would not play a role in plans for the upcoming season. He hadn’t seen a minute in the league between late March and early May. He was only used in the last few games – possibly also to put him in the shop window for potential clubs. So now he’s off to Los Angeles.

Just how badly Barça wanted to get rid of the player is shown by the fact that they didn’t even want a fee. Should Puig really take off in the MLS and be sold again for a lot of money, the Catalans will get a stake.

Once Puig’s exit is finalized, the club’s transfer efforts will continue!

According to the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, Barça are intensively involved with Íñigo Martínez (31) from Athletic Bilbao. The centre-back appears to be the new A solution amid difficult negotiations with Chelsea over a move from Cesar Azpilicueta (32).

At 1.81 meters, Martínez is relatively small for a central defender. In 2018 he moved to Bilbao from Real Sociedad for €32m.

But it shouldn’t be that expensive. Sports director Mateu Alemany (59) has deposited a transfer fee of 15 million euros, according to “Sport”.

Apparently, Bilbao want more but Barça don’t want to offer more. The central defender’s contract expires next summer. Should the Basques not accept the fee, Barça want to sign Martínez for the coming season on a free transfer in January.

The newcomers are not yet registered with the Catalans. Nevertheless, the club is on a spending spree …
