FC Barcelona: Robert Lewandowski on ineligibility to play – FOOTBALL

It finally starts on August 13th! Then the new season begins for FC Barcelona and new striker Robert Lewandowski (33) with the home game against Rayo Vallecano.

But will the new signing from FC Bayern, whose move there was constant gossip, be able to play at all? The league has apparently refused the club to register the club’s newcomers, as reported by several media outlets.

This would mean that Robert Lewandowski and Co. would not be eligible to play at the start of the season. The club is therefore apparently considering selling further rights to flush money into the coffers.

Specifically, 150 million euros are missing!

“I’m not worried about registration, I think everything is on track,” Lewandowski said succinctly at a press conference.

Barça President Joan Laporta (60) also gave hope in this regard. At a meeting with members of various Barcelona fan clubs, the club boss assured that “all signings can be registered.”

And what finally convinced Lewandowski of FC Barcelona?

Intensive discussions with coach Xavi probably played a central role: “Even more important than the tactical aspect are the words he used and how he used them. I suddenly noticed this twinkle in his eyes.”

The Pole is very happy with the level of preparation: “Every training session during the pre-season was very good and I’m personally very satisfied with my work these days.”

His debut for Barça should also make him satisfied. As part of the season opener, FC Barcelona played the traditional Gamper trophy against the Mexican club UNAM Pumas. Lewandowski was in the starting XI, scored a goal in the 6-0 win and was ultimately named man-of-the-match.
