According to the French L’Equipe, FC Barcelona wants to make coach Xavi happy. Accordingly, the Catalans want to sign right-back Hamari Traoré (30) from Stade Rennes!

Traoré is the captain of the French first division club and also plays for the national team of Mali. Although he has been part of the permanent staff for years, he has not yet been discussed at any major club. All the more surprising that Barça want to bid for him.
According to L’Equipe, Barça will submit a €3m offer to the Frenchman in the next 48 hours. Traoré still has a contract until the end of the season and should earn around 2 million gross. So a cheap alternative, provided that Rennes accepts the offer.

With Thomas Meunier from BVB, Barça recently had to remove another candidate from the wish list. “We don’t see any reason to give it up at the moment. That’s not our plan,” said Dortmund sports director Sebastian Kehl. Other alternatives were Juan Foyth and Hector Bellerin.
It remains to be seen whether the Blaugrana will finally settle on Traoré, who has enjoyed a strong pre-season with 42 appearances, three goals and ten assists.
With a new right-back, the club could make Xavi really happy. He had demanded: “We have to strengthen ourselves there (on the right side, editor’s note).”
Sergiño Dest (21) and Sergi Roberto (30) do not seem to have convinced the coach so far. Barça had already played without a right-back in the 4-1 win at Real Sociedad. After the back four at the start of the season, he switched to a back three. Ronald Araújo acted as rail player. Previously, the Uruguayan centre-back had to play on the back right.
