Barça want to get rid of even more players…

Barcelona have bought as much as they can this season. Among others came Robert Lewandowski (33), Raphinha (25) and Jules Koundé (23). Now the club wants to create space – also to be able to register the new stars at all.

Barça boss wants to get rid of THESE two stars quickly!

Ahead of Sunday’s pre-season game against Mexico club Pumas, Barcelona President Laporta told ESport3: “Umtiti and Braithwaite have a contract, but they understood that the coach isn’t counting on them. You know it’s time to go.”

Rumms!

Braithwaite joined the Catalans in 2020 for €18m from Spanish club Leganés – he is now set to leave

Samuel Umtiti (28/contract until 2026) and Martin Braithwaite (31/contract until 2024) have been on the Barça strike list for a long time. They were already banned from the Catalans’ USA tour. So far, however, the two have not been able to find a new club.

Now the Laporta announcement!

The contract of keeper Neto (33) had previously been terminated and he is moving to Bournemouth on a free transfer. Laporta has already gotten rid of central defender Óscar Mingueza (23/free transfer to Celta Vigo) and Riqui Puig (22/free transfer to LA Galaxy).

Now Umtiti and Braithwaite have to go…

Because Laporta’s big problem is still the registration of new players!

There has been a salary cap for Spanish clubs since 2018. This is to prevent the clubs from becoming over-indebted. Barça, Real Madrid and Co. are only allowed to use 80 percent of their budget for salaries. Due to declining sales, the Catalans have had difficulties for a long time in complying with the requirements of the Spanish league. Another way to lower the payroll budget is to sell players.
