Executioner stapled for Pilsen? Slavia would not have a long way to go, after the draw, Slovácko is also clear

They didn’t have to wait long, Victoria’s footballers were pulled out of their destiny right in the first pair. The path to the Champions League is definitely realistic for them. If they deal with Tiraspol first, they would certainly not be without a chance in the final play-off.

Bílk’s team would face either Azerbaijan’s Karabakh or Hungary’s Ferencváros. Pilsen has already played with Karabakh, in 2016 they eliminated it in the 3rd preliminary round of the LM. After a 0:0 draw at home, they drew 1:1 in the second leg, with Michael Krmenčík scoring five minutes before the end. The team from Budapest eliminated Slavia last year.

Pilsen would now start away. Zistou already has at least the basic group of the Conference League, in case of promotion through Sheriff, he will play in the worst European League. The West Bohemians avoided the Turkish champion Trabzonspor and got one of the three pairs from the 3rd preliminary round.

Viktoria found herself again in the fate of the 4th preliminary round of the Europa League in case she was eliminated with Tiraspol. Then she would play either with Red Star Belgrade or Armenian Pjunik Yerevan (with the loser of the pair). The unequivocal favorite to progress is the Serbian champion. Pilsen would once again start outside.

In the case of advancing through Fenerbahce Istanbul, Slovakia will face Austria Vienna in the Europa League playoffs. The Moravians would play the first match in the Austrian capital, the rematch a week later at home. Austria took third place in the Austrian league last season, in the new year they only got a point in two matches. In addition, she entered the competition with a three-point deduction due to a violation of licensing rules.

The winner of the domestic MOL Cup aims for the premier participation in the main stage of one of the European cups. He needs to win at least one doubleheader in the qualifiers to ensure participation in the Conference League group.

Assuming that it fails with Fenerbahce, Slovakia could face AIK Stockholm or Macedonian Škendija Tetovo. Both matches would be played on the same days as against Austria, but would start at home.

If Slavia gets past Panathinaikos Athens in the 3rd preliminary round of the Conference League, they will compete in the play-offs for promotion to the group with the winner of the duel between Trnava and Poland’s Czenstochová, whose squad includes the currently injured national team defender Tomáš Petrášek. The Czech vice-champion would start outside.

Raków won the second Polish league in the 2018/19 season and finished second in the top flight in the last two seasons. In addition, Częstochowa won the domestic cup twice in a row. The captain of the team is the 30-year-old Czech defender Petrášek, but he is injured and was not on the roster for the 2nd preliminary round. Raków eliminated Astana after winning 5-0 at home and 1-0 away.

Trnava went over the Welsh Newtown in the 2nd preliminary round. However, she failed to enter the domestic competition, in which she played three times at home and only won once. Spartak finished third in the Slovak league last season, and won the title in 2018. This spring, Trnava won the domestic cup, just like Czestochowa.

Slavia must knock out three opponents on the way to the group; she has already come through one when she unequivocally progressed over Gibraltarian outsiders St Joseph’s in the 2nd preliminary round. If the red and whites were to falter in the qualifiers and fall out with one of the opponents, they would not play a group in the cups for the first time since 2016/17.

Sparta, the fourth Czech representative on the European stage, was already eliminated after not being enough against Viking Stavanger last week.
