The Germany eight just missed out on a medal at the European Championships.

The flagship of the German Rowing Association around the Hamburg batsman Torben Johannesen took fourth place behind Italy on the regatta course in Oberschleißheim. Victory went to the outstanding Brits, silver was celebrated by the eighth from the Netherlands.

The women’s quadruple sculls had previously finished sixth in their European Championship final when Great Britain won. On Sunday, world and European champion Oliver Zeidler is one of the top contenders for the title.
