Eintracht Frankfurt: President Peter Fischer sad about Kostic change Sports

Eintracht President on Kostic change |

Fischer: “I realize how messed up the business is”

The change from Eintracht’s wing star Filip Kostic (29) to Juventus Turin was THE dominant topic the day before the Supercup cracker against Real Madrid.

President Peter Fischer (66) also commented on Kostic’s departure the evening before the game and has a clear opinion…

Fischer: “If you ever have the chance to play against Real Madrid in the Supercup – not against Wetterau. In front of 500 countries watching the game somewhere and not doing it, I realize how messed up the business is at the end of the day. It hurts.”

He said what is on the heart of many fans. Still, it’s clear that Kostic will forever have a place in Eintracht’s history books as the best player of the Europa League season.

The President emphasizes: “For me, that doesn’t detract from Filip’s performance at all. When I think back, I will always think of crosses and shots from him. He was an exceptional player for Eintracht Frankfurt, who we will always have in our hearts.”

However, Fischer is unsure whether the Serb will get a chance at Juve that often. Because with Angel Di Maria, the Italians have already brought in a winger.

“He’s playing somewhere in Italy now. Since the Di Maria plays in the same position. Maybe then we’ll see him sitting in the stands. But I don’t wish that on him. He chose it, that’s the business,” said Fischer.

About 10,000 Eintracht fans are expected in Helsinki at the Supercup against Real. Fischer makes the followers hot: “I want to hear something from you, not just a little twiddling my thumbs. I want to hear that Frankfurters are there. We’re the blatant underdogs, but we’ll take on the role. Maybe then we’ll have the chance again that I can drink from the cup…”
