Glasner complains about league appointment

There is not much time to put your feet up…

After the Supercup cracker against Real Madrid (0:2) in Helsinki on Wednesday evening, Eintracht has to go back to Hertha in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon (3:30 p.m.).

A pretty tight schedule!

Eintracht coach Oliver Glasner (47) does not like the schedule of the Berlin game at all: “We would have liked to see it scheduled for Sunday. Because we also represented Germany and the Bundesliga. Now we have to get going in Berlin on Saturday afternoon when it’s over 30 degrees. Not quite as comfortable.”

The Frankfurters threw everything in against Real over 90 minutes. In the end, they didn’t stand a chance against the big favorites.

Looking ahead to Saturday, Glasner says: “I hope my legs aren’t too tired. Of course we have invested a lot.” For the German Football League (DFL), the rule that two competitive games must be more than 48 hours apart is decisive. This is the case between Wednesday evening and Saturday noon.

Luckily, the coach has a broader squad with the transfers of Mario Götze, Randal Kolo Muani and Lucas Alario in the new season. The trio only came on as a substitute against Real. Götze in particular will probably be back in the starting XI in Berlin.

Eintracht will soon also be playing in the Champions League during the week. The club can already prepare for the tight schedule for the new season…
