Eintracht Frankfurt defeats Werder Bremen: the individual review

Kevin Trapp: Strange game for him. Hardly tested, three goals conceded, in the end in the center of the hustle and bustle – he must have rarely experienced such games.

Evan Ndicka: Didn’t seem to be up to par in Bremen’s 1-1, when he insufficiently fended off the ball before the goal was conceded, and was only there where the ball wasn’t in the 1-2 – but overall Niclas Füllkrug had a good grip and stabilized in the second halftime. Caused the late penalty kick that made Frankfurt tremble.

Total: Initially struggled with Ducksch, grew more confident alongside Ndicka as the game progressed after making a good save from Ducksch in the 38th minute – and was the center of excitement when he nearly scored an own goal in the fourth minute of added time.

Kristijan Jakic: On the right in the back four it was a rather inconspicuous game for the Croatian; Werder’s stage gave him space that he rarely used. He made a few careless mistakes.

Luca Pellegrini: Didn’t find it funny at all to be substituted in the 64th minute. Fine with the ball, always offensive, sometimes rustic when it had to be. Almost converted a corner kick directly in the 23rd minute.

Djibril Sow: Initially had difficulties ensuring safety next to Rode, hardly got any balls, rarely got into duels. His best scene was when he shot Kamada’s pass into Bremen’s goal to make it 4-2 in the 48th minute.

Sebastian Rode: Usual diligent, passable, good in the 1:1 duels – when he went out in the 77th minute, Eintracht was missing something. His pass to 3:2 was wonderful. Then also the one who often calmed down the Eintracht game.

Daichi Kamada: Collected personal points by setting up the 2-2 and 4-2. Could have celebrated in the 2nd minute if Pavlenka hadn’t been in the Bremen goal. Also close to a goal with his offside goal in the 19th minute.

Mario Götze: Liberating hit to 1:0, nice low shot. Then full in. Snappy, alert, playable, directed the start of Bremen’s build-up game. Also defensively with good actions.

Jesper Lindström: Had fun on this sunny evening as he ran into former Brondby colleague Anthony Jung. First forgave like against Cologne, then scored in the style of an artist to 3: 2. Castled, made meters, dodged to the left. Was flat at the end.

Randal Colored: Had to put up with the duels with Amos Pieper and didn’t let the fun of the game take away. Great how he left two Bremen players before the 2:2. Was good at pressing later, Werder was annoying in the build-up game.

Christopher Lenz: Came for Pellegrini in the 64th minute, was quickly challenged defensively, only had a few offensive actions.

Ansgar Knauff: From the 77th minute, Lindström gave the break he needed.

Timothy Chandler: When Rode went, he came – throwing himself in to secure the first win of the season.

Lucas Alario: Had to have his bracelet taped before he was allowed to play from the 86th minute.

Raphael Borre: Started in the direction of the Bremen corner flag when he was substituted on in the 86th minute to take time off the clock. But the game lasted quite a long time.
