Draymond Green and Ja Morant have a different style of play but, according to the Warriors veteran, at the level of personality and determination on the floor, it is the point guard of Memphis who we will find more similarities if we compare him with him. Is right? This is how Green himself explains it in Draymond Green Show when asked which player reminds him more of himself.
“I will not bow down to any of you. I don’t care what you accomplished before I got here. That is something that has absolutely nothing to do with me. I believe in myself and my abilities and I’m going to prove it to you. I will lead. I’m going to talk to you and I’ll let you know while I’m at it. I will drag others with me. And most importantly, I’ll do it my way. I see all those things that I have just mentioned in Ja Morant », she sentences.
Regardless of whether we see Green’s explanation more or less accurate, the reality is that it is a huge compliment to Ja Morant. It is no longer that his individual abilities to play basketball stand out, but according to Green, they are accompanied by a competitive personality that transcends the usual. We all know that Green is not the best player for the Warriors, but we can say that he can be the most important at certain times, especially in key games for the team to maintain a steady pace. To have that kind of leadership in a player called to fight for years for the MVP? It sounds like holy madness.
