Grigor Dimitrov embarks on yet another season finale among the top 20 in the world. The Bulgarian became world 3 and a Grand Slam semifinalist for the first time in 2017, where his tennis, sometimes so similar to Federer’s, delighted the public wherever he went.

Now, at 31 years old, and already in his sporting maturity, the man from Haskovo sees his career differently. Perhaps, with less pressure to achieve things, and with more freedom to develop his game further away from the spotlight.

Dimitrov’s goal is to return to the Top 10

At the conclusion of his Washington round of 32 win over Adrian MannarinoDimitrov left a striking reflection that permeated the people, and that has been collected ESPN: «I’m not going to judge myself for having had a great career; my perspective of success is backwards. I have won big tournaments. I have had incredible results and beat great opponentsGrigor commented.

«Getting back to the top is my goal. I was able to be in the Top 20 for a long time and in the Top 10 for as long. I was there and I know what to do for it. I know it’s possible to start over. All of this comes with consistency. It’s up to me, although now everything is more volatile than before. That’s why I have to be smart with the breaks«, Dimitrov reflected, regarding a new more dosed planning of his calendar.

«The idea and the objective is to return to the Top 10. I see it feasible«, concluded Dimitrov, who plays this Friday against Sebastian Korda the postponed round of 16 match at the ATP 500 in Washington 2022.
