Genk coach Wouter Vrancken has Daniel Muñoz and Angelo Preciado available for the right back position. But in the Cegeka Arena, the departure of Daniel Muñoz and/or Angelo Preciado is expected. The Colombian is linked by Italian media to first division team Fiorentina, in addition, he is in the interest of an unnamed club from Mexico. The Ecuadorian, who wants to collect more playing minutes with a view to the World Cup, would also have aroused the interest of some foreign clubs.

In order to anticipate the departure of (one of) the two, Genk is therefore active on the transfer market. Rasmus Carstensen, a 21-year-old Dane who has been followed for a year, is in pole position. According to Danish sources, the negotiations between Genk and Silkeborg are already at an advanced stage, a transfer price of 3 million euros would have been agreed.

Carstensen is Danish youth international, he has 12 caps in the U21. He comes from the youth academy of Silkeborg IF and has been part of the A-team since 2019. In total, he has 89 games to his credit. In it he scored 2 goals and was good for 24 assists. This season he has already given 2 decisive passes after only 3 match days. According to Danish insiders, it is ‘a type of Joakim Maehle’. Silkeborg took 7 out of 9 and is second in the Superligaen.(rco)
