Damian Hollis commands the Pirates of La Guaira in Maracay

With 22 points, Damian Hollis commanded this Monday the Piratas de La Guaira victory 76-69 over Toros de Aragua at the El Limón Coliseum.

Ariel Amarillo’s men started strongly and dominated the first quarter 21-12. But they lost effectiveness and gave up in the second quarter (21-13) to reach halftime with a minimal advantage of 34-33.

For the second half, they straightened the course at the hands of Damian Hollis -who showed off with a couple of triples- and won 20-10.

The last 10 minutes were the closest of the game, and even Toros dominated the actions (26-22). But the Pirates managed to preserve the victory, their fourth this season.

In addition, of his more than 20 points, Damian Hollis added six rebounds and five assists. Willie Warren and Juan Rivero escorted him with 15 and 11 points, respectively.

For Toros, who lowered his record to 1-6, Rodgel Pérez stood out, with 14 points and captain Armando Macuare, with 12.
