Cuban basketball players arrived in the United States

In recent days, the Cuban basketball players, Yusleidis Miranda and Anay García, arrived in the United States, after taking advantage of an opportunity that gave them life to flee from the clutches of Castroism.

Both athletes were in El Salvador fulfilling contracts under the representation of the Institute of Sports and Physical Recreation (Inder), however, they decided to break with it to undertake the objective of reaching North American territory.

Through her social networks, Yusleidis Miranda shared a text, accompanied by a video, where she notifies her arrival in the North American nation, thanking those who helped her “arrive in the country of freedom”, according to her own words.

“Thanks to all the people who trusted me and reached out to me. To my family, who always supported me from day one. One more goal expired for me and let’s go for more. Thank you God and everything that protects me for allowing me to reach the country of freedom”the basketball player wrote in her account Facebook.

In said audiovisual material, the athlete showed part of her journey through Central America, Mexico and, finally, the United States.

It is worth mentioning that both Miranda and García only played three games corresponding to the basketball season in El Salvador. Despite having a good performance, everything seemed to indicate that the players already had among their plans to play only a couple of games, and then escape.

In this way, the athletes of the largest of the Antilles continue to escape as soon as the opportunity arises, due to the misery and lack of opportunities imposed by the tyranny that prevails in the country. Many of those who previously sacrificed today can say that they are fulfilling their dreams abroad.
