Creully-sur-Seulles: the Medieval return to the castle on August 6 and 7

This year, a new formula is proposed by the Gold Beach Tourism tourist office for the medieval weekend of August 6 and 7, 2022 at the castle of Creully-sur-Seulles (Calvados).

A complete and festive weekend with entertainment for children, concerts, demonstrations, falconry and even archery. Something to make young and old dream.

Back to the 15th century!

For a weekend, the Château de Creully will come alive and return to the XVe century. Visitors will be able to discover life in medieval times thanks to reconstructions by the companies and participants who will present their camp, artillery equipment including cannons or period weapons. Many activities are planned as well as shows on civil and military history, medieval dances, ax throwing, horse jousting and bird of prey shows.

Equestrian and falconry shows

Saturday and Sunday all day, cannon shooting demonstrations, equestrian shows, wood discovery workshops, knight’s games, falconry shows (only on Saturdays), archery, ax throwing will animate the 2 days. Les Écuyers de l’Histoire will provide 3 shows on Saturday and Sunday in the fields next to the Allée Cavalière, La Fauconnerie Marche will provide 2 falconry shows on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. A medieval market will also be set up in the Allée Cavalière with stands of medieval books and local producers.

Concert, catering and Fireworks

The “Le Valhalla” restaurant in Bretteville-sur-Odon will allow you to eat on site. The Saltabraz group will give a concert at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday evening in the castle grounds, followed by fireworks.

The Tourist Office is still looking for volunteers

The weekend begins at 10 a.m., Saturday August 6, until midnight, and will end on Sunday August 7, at 6 p.m. Volunteers are welcome to supervise security, participate in the logistics of the weekend, manage access, reception and set up the facilities.

The UCIA takes part in the festivities

The Union Commerciale des Industriels et Artisans de Creully will also take part in the festivities by decorating their stores.

Open to all from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., admission €6, free for children under 12. The car parks available will be that of the college, the schools and the future health centre. Admission gives the right to participate in all activities.
