The Dominican infielder of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Rodolfo Castrohas received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for violating Major League Baseball’s electronic device policy, by having a cell phone in your pocket during his team’s game Aug. 9 against the D-bacls at Chase Field.
Michael Hill, MLB’s vice president of field operations, made the announcement.
Castro’s suspension was scheduled to be served Tuesday at the Pirates-Red Sox game at PNC Park.
However, Castro decided to appeal the decision, so the discipline will be postponed until the process is completed.
