Carlos Alcaraz becomes the fourth player in the world in the ATP ranking

Beaten in the final of the Umag tournament on Sunday, Carlos Alcaraz has however moved up one place in the ATP rankings, updated on Monday. The young Spaniard (19) is now the fourth player in the world, replacing the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. But he is quite far from the podium, trailing third-placed compatriot Rafael Nadal by 1,130 points.

The ranking remains dominated by the Russian Daniil Medvedev, ahead of the German Alexander Zverev. Novak Djokovic, winner in July at Wimbledon, but dropped back down in the standings, since the prestigious English tournament did not earn any points this year, has also gained a rank and finds himself world No. 6. He passed the Norwegian Casper Ruud.

The Italian Jannik Sinner, winner on Sunday at Umag, remains ranked 10th. Finally Gaël Monfils has lost a place and is in 20th position. He is still the French No. 1.
