After just 23 minutes, his league debut was already over!
At the start of the Dortmund season against Leverkusen, BVB new signing Karim Adeyemi (20) had to be replaced early with an injury.
In a duel with Bayer defender Hincapié, Adeyemi’s left foot unfortunately buckled. Shortly thereafter, the national player (four international matches) sat on the grass, took off his shoe and had to be treated for almost three minutes.
After the break in treatment, Adeyemi returned to the pitch, but shortly thereafter indicated that he wasn’t going to continue. Adeyemi finally had to go down in the 23rd minute, and Thorgan Hazard (29) came on for him.
After Niklas Süle (26), who had to go out in the cup against 1860 Munich (3-0) at halftime, and Haller’s shock diagnosis (testicular cancer), the next bitter news for BVB.
Adeyemi joined Dortmund from RB Salzburg this summer. In his first competitive game for BVB in the cup, he scored his first goal for his new club.
