The field of the San Lorenzo de Chivilcoy club was the scene of the Regional Stage of the Women’s 3×3 Basketball of the Buenos Aires Games and the day left a double reason for joy for the Pilar delegation. It is that the teams of the Sub 14 and University Students category achieved the title and qualified to play the Provincial Final of the contest to be held in the city of Mar del Plata.
“It was another day of joy. 3×3 Basketball is booming throughout the country and Pilar is no exception. The girls had a great performance, two teams advanced to Mar del Plata and the other two were very close. I want to congratulate them all for the level shown and the behavior of the delegation”, commented the Director of Sports, Fernando Trillo.
In the Under 14 category, Pilar was represented by a team from the Presidente Derqui club and in the final, those led by Nicolás Suárez, defeated Chivilcoy to win the gold medal. The Pilar team, which will pack its bags to play in “La Feliz”, is made up of Guadalupe Lerche, Josefina Marcovich, Josefina Segovia and Lisa Gentiluomo.
The other success from Pilar was recorded in the division reserved for University and Tertiary Students. There the formation made up of students from the Municipal School of Women’s Basketball became strong, who in the decisive duel accounted for San Antonio de Areco by a forceful 16 to 4. This cast is made up of Paola Lucero, Anahí Maciel, Daniela Kohan and Gimena Maciel, technically directed by María Eugenia Mancini.
The Pilarense delegation was completed with the squads of the Sub 16 and 18 divisions, both from the Presidente Derqui club. These teams also showed a more than interesting level but fell in the previous instances. The Sub 16 category team lost to Luján by a tight 11 to 8, while the Sub 18 girls were unable to beat Exaltación de la Cruz in a very even match and ended up losing 9 to 7.
The Regional Stage of Basketball 3×3 will be completed this Friday the 12th starting at 9 with the dispute of the men’s competition in the neighboring district of Luján. Pilar will fight in all categories: Sub 14, 16, 18 and University.
