Blind baseball, capaccese Napoli best player at the International Cup

CAPACCIO PAESTUM. The Italian blind baseball team won the prestigious Blind International Cup which took place in the Netherlands in recent days. The blue selection led by manager Fabio Azzaro beat the competition: after a start in chiaroscuro, Italy won its group, clearly beating Germany in the semifinals and triumphing over Great Britain, already met in the preliminary round, in the last act of the competition. A deserved and exciting success, at the first appearance of the team after three years, due to the stop imposed by Covid. Italy has respected the prediction by winning the trophy with the right mix between young and veterans: among the latter the talent of Giorgio Napoli, an athlete from Capaccio Paestum, who has been transplanted to Bologna for years, stands out once again, who, after the successes with his club – the Fortitudo White Sox – he also had the great satisfaction of winning a trophy with the national team and the title of best player of the tournament. An example for everyone, Giorgio continues his growth in this sport, cultivating the great dream, which is also that of the whole movement, of bringing this discipline to the Paralympics.
