The Summer Judo Camp in Izola (Slovenia) has been underway since July 31st, an unmissable event that for the 31st consecutive year sees the presence of over 500 athletes from 12 countries on the mats: in addition to Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, Turkey, Kosovo, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The first half of the field is reserved for the higher classes, while the second half is aimed at the younger categories. Among the participating athletes there is the Italy women’s team, made up of 7 athletes among which we find the Brescia of Roncadelle Alice Bellandi, former judoka of the Judo Club Capelletti, now in force at the Fiamme Gialle, protagonist last year at the Olympics in Tokyo. After a first week of meeting in Turin dedicated to technical work, Alice moved to the training camp in Izola to have the chance to confront as many partners as possible and put into practice the situational work tested in view of the world championship to be held in Tashkent in October. A golden opportunity for personal and team discussion and growth. It is also the first camp proposed after the Covid emergency. “During the pandemic, each country tried to face the difficulties in its own way according to its own abilities – explains Marijan Fabijan, sports director of Slovenia -. Some countries, with the availability of athletes, ideas and resources, have been able to organize themselves, while in these parts we have had many difficulties. The Izola Camp allows us and everyone to make up for lost ground ». •. GF © REPRODUCTION RESERVED
