Barcelona Close Opportunity to loan De Jong to Bayern?

Barcelona

Barcelona are reportedly running out of options regarding Frenkie de Jong. In fact, the Dutch midfielder reportedly will not be loaned to Bayern Munich if the opportunity arises.

De Jong is a player that Barcelona are trying to release this summer. The club’s financial condition is the reason.

Manchester United reportedly had an interest in him. An offer was made by the Red Devils, and was accepted by Barcelona.

However, De Jong refused to move. The offer was ignored, and De Jong remained at Camp Nou.

Chelsea are also reportedly eyeing the 25-year-old player. However, Frenkie de Jong reportedly still chooses to stay at Barcelona.

This situation makes Barcelona even more difficult. Moreover, the transfer market will close in a matter of days.

According to Marca, Barcelona could actually repeat the tactics of three years ago. In 2019, Barcelona loaned Philippe Coutinho to Bayern Munich.

However, Barcelona is said to not be doing that again. Barcelona has no intention of loaning De Jong to Bayern Munich.

One of Barcelona’s obstacles to retaining De Jong is that his salary is too big. On the one hand, the club is struggling financially so it needs funds, which affects the registration of players to LaLiga. Currently, Jules Kunde, a newly recruited defender, can’t even be registered to play.

The situation became more complicated, because Barcelona’s efforts to urge Frenkie de Jong to reduce his salary were rejected. The player is adamant on his contract, under which he will instead receive an additional fee this season in lieu of his salary which was suspended during the coronavirus pandemic.
