Another Czech footballer who could change his place of work is offensive midfielder Antonín Barák. According to the Italian media, he should leave his Verona and head to Florence, where Fiorentina is based. A pupil of Příbram football should be a guest at the club. Famous journalist Fabrizio Romano is already talking about his transfer.

Fiorentina’s interest has been talked about for a long time, now the Italian media are taking it almost as a given. For example, Nicolò Schira reported on Monday morning that negotiations are in the final phase. On Tuesday evening, the well-known sports journalist Fabrizio Romano also spoke about the transfer. “The personal terms were already agreed a few days ago, so Barák will soon become a new Fiorentina player,” the Italian journalist said on Twitter. Barák should head to Fiorentina on loan for 2 million euros (almost 50 million crowns) with a transfer clause worth 10 million euros more.

The contract would then be until 2026, Barák would earn 1.5 million euros (less than 37 million crowns) per year. In the team, he could meet, for example, former Real Madrid player Luka Jovic. It would be the fourth Italian engagement for the Czech representative. Outside of Verona, he also worked in Lecce and Udinese.

​For Verona, this is another big, tangible loss. Last year’s top scorer Gio Simeone, who scored seventeen goals, left the team in recent days. Barák was the third best finisher with eleven goals, to which he added three more assists. Together they led Verona to ninth place.

He could also play European Cups in Fiorentina. The Violets are in the last qualifying round for the European Conference League, they beat Twente 2:1 at home in the opening match. The second leg is played on Thursday.
