A robbery has left Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his family horrible. The FC Barcelona striker is said to have had his jaw broken with an iron bar. An injury that could even thwart his future plans.
PFC Barcelona’s ierre-Emerick Aubameyang is said to have been crushed in a robbery at his home in Spain, according to media reports. The 33-year-old striker is threatened with a longer forced break of up to a month if the feared fracture of the jaw is confirmed, write the newspaper “Marca” and other Spanish media and quote the online magazine “The Athletic”.
The injury could also disrupt or even burst the negotiations about a change from the ex-Dortmund professional to Chelsea. The London club are looking for a replacement for Timo Werner, who has left for Leipzig, and Romelu Lukaku, who has joined Inter Milan.
Aubameyang is said to be the first choice, Chelsea are said to have already made an offer of 23 million euros. However, before the severity of Aubameyang’s injury became known. There is a good chance that Chelsea will withdraw his offer now.
Aubameyang’s children had to watch the attack
The horrific attack happened last Monday morning. At least four masked people had entered the garden of Aubameyang’s house in Castelldefels near Barcelona. According to these media reports, Aubameyang, his wife Alysha and several guests were surprised around 1 a.m. and threatened with guns and iron bars, among other things, and some were also beaten. The couple’s two children also witnessed the robbery, it said.
Under threats, the Gabonese footballer was forced to open the safe from which the thieves stole jewelry and other valuables with a total value of around 700,000 euros. The perpetrators then escaped undetected in a car.
The police have started the investigation. When asked, the Catalan police only confirmed an armed robbery in Castelldefels, but did not want to reveal the identities of the victims. However, the media reports were not denied. So far there has been no official statement from either Aubameyang or FC Barcelona.
