McLaren Automotive and APL, the high-performance sports shoe brand, have teamed up to create a new range of luxury sneakers that further advances design, performance, technology and construction.
Inspired by iconic McLaren supercars, the first offering of the collaboration is the limited edition APL | McLaren HySpeed, It’s a shoe with an impressive all-purpose design.
Featuring APL’s Load ‘N Launch technology designed to instantly increase vertical jump and featuring a design inspired by the McLaren Speedtail, these shoes make use of premium materials and world-class craftsmanship.
With such close parallels, the collaboration was naturally guided by McLaren’s design pillars to create a truly unique footwear collection.
These one-of-a-kind shoes stand out at first glance by the silhouette and the option of custom color combinations, directly influenced by McLaren supercars.
What is most striking about its appearance is the three-piece segmented midsole with APL FutureFoam pods at the front and rear that are connected by a full-length, lightweight carbon fiber plate topped by a nitrogen-infused compound that is designed for supreme responsiveness and rich compression power.
Additionally, the shoe features a microfiber heel with extended wings and an advanced internal fit system with three-piece heel padding and APL’s exclusive Souffle Sockliner.
In turn, the outsole also references McLaren supercar design cues, with a tread pattern inspired by performance tires that are built for speed and grip.
Like all high-quality tennis, the APL | McLaren HySpeed come in a drawer style box with the outer sleeve being a combination of bright McLaren logos. Pulling out the drawer reveals a black inner box and a clear smoked black shoe cover displaying the shoe tool blueprint drawing. Opening the drawer all the way reveals a line drawing of the McLaren F1.
Available for men and women, these APL | McLaren HySpeed are sold for $450 a pair (9,000 pesos).
