Asnawi Mangkualam Bahar Replaced by Shin Tae-Yong’s Son, Ansan Greeners Gasak Gimpo Citizen

Asnawi almost made a blunder in the first half, but Min-ho was lucky to thwart the hosts’ chances.

Indonesian national team player Asnawi Mangkualam Bahar helped Ansan Greeners stop the winless record in the previous four matches after beating the host Gimpo Citizen at Gimpo Stadium, Wednesday (31/8), in the continuation of K League 2 South Korea.

For Ansan, this victory means a lot, considering they only got three draws and one defeat in the previous match. The result puts Ansan in eighth place in the standings with 32 points, two points behind Gimpo, who is in seventh position.

Coach Lim Jong-heon once again trusted Asnawi to appear as a starter in this match in the 3-4-3 scheme. Ansan showed open play since the kick-off whistle was blown by the referee.

Asnawi made a blunder in the 19th minute which almost led to a goal. Asnawi intends to pass the ball to his partner, but the ball goes to Kwin Min-jae. This Gimpo player immediately dribbled into the penalty box area. Luckily, Kim Min-ho, who ran fast to catch Min-jae, managed to make a clean tackle, so Ansan’s goal was avoided.

Ansan had the upper hand after Gimpo lost a player in the 34th minute, following Lee Seong-jae’s second yellow card for fouling Kim Kyung-jun.

Ansan’s attempt to open a new advantage was realized towards the end of the first half. After deceiving goalkeeper Lee Sang-wook, Robson Duarte provided a pass to Choi Geon-joo who was free-standing, so that without difficulty breaking into the host’s goal.

Ansan immediately stepped on the gas to double the advantage in the second half. On the other hand, a one-man short Gimpo tends to defend while trying to counterattack.

In the 71st minute, Ansan got the opportunity to double the advantage. Asnawi, who managed to break through the opponent’s penalty box, gave a pass to the front of the goal, but none of his colleagues greeted the ball.

Ansan was finally able to double the advantage in the 78th minute through Lee Sang-min’s penalty. The referee awarded a penalty following a foul on Robson in the forbidden box after the referee saw the video assistant referee (VAR).

Ansan increased the advantage in the 87th minute through a goal scored by Robson on the counter-attack. Asnawi was then withdrawn in the 90th minute to be replaced by Shin Tae-yong’s son, Shin Jae-hyuk. The score 3-0 did not change until the game was over.
