Arco: Tricolor to Elisabetta Mijno, also beats able-bodied – Sport

(ANSA) – ODERZO, 28 AUG – Historic feat, in the absolute Italian archery championships, of the Paralympic blue Elisabetta Mijno who won the tricolor title by beating even able-bodied athletes.

The star of the National Para-Archery, who already last year had close to success by losing the final of the Absolutes, this time he made it by overcoming the 18-year-old representative of the Maremma Archers in the challenge for the title held in Piazza Grande in Oderzo Geneva Landi. And this at the end of a final that was a long battle played on the edge of balance in which the Piedmontese won 6-4 on the last useful throw. Thus Mijno becomes the second Paralympic athlete to climb the roof of Italy in the curved division (the Olympic arch) among the able-bodied, after Paola Fantato who succeeded in 1994.

Among the men the silver medal of the Tokyo 2020 Games was won by Mauro Nespoli, who in the final beat the representative of the Blue Flames Massimiliano Mandia by 6-4. For Nespoli, in his fourth career title, this is yet another excellent performance in a season that will end with the World Cup final in Mexico scheduled for October 16. (HANDLE).
