Andre Iguodala: “Kevin Durant Should Stay In Brooklyn; It’s Better For Basketball That Way”

The Kevin Durant – Brooklyn Nets relationship is getting more and more complicated. Things got worse when Durant sent an ultimatum to Nets owner Joe Tsai on the expulsion of Steve Nash – Sean Marks.

Tsai left Durant’s requests unanswered, choosing to stand behind General Manager Sean Marks and Coach Steve Nash.

Recently “Point Forward” the podcast program participating Andre Iguodala thinks former teammate Kevin Durant should stay with the Nets:

“I think Durant should stay in Brooklyn. It’s a big market and it’s better for basketball like that. Everyone should behave maturely and this matter should be resolved. This is how I think about it.

The Nets said, ‘Whether you play or not, you have a four-year contract. You’re with us for a while, your contract isn’t over. Don’t play if you want, we’ll lose a year too. Durant is getting old and time is very, very important.”

It seems unlikely that this process will be resolved any time soon. If the trade doesn’t happen, will Durant want to spend the last years of his career playing for the Nets? If it happens, which team will it go to for which package?

Durant, who asked to be traded right at the beginning of the free agent market, spent the whole summer on the agenda. Resolving this tension as soon as possible is the biggest hope of basketball fans.
